The Birth

Date: 14/July2010 (Wednesday)  -  The HOG is here.

Its here and has already clocked in 700 kms in first fortnight of its foray on Indian roads. Dismal number by any biking standards; there are limitations. The awe inspiring FATBOY, is looked upon by everyone wherever it passes. Be it on traffic lights, with someone clicking snaps of it (while it allows) or someone asking about the origins of the bike or someone asking about the price followed by a hearty laugh or a jaw dropping exercise, it is an attention magnet. We have never seen the likes of such machines in this part of the world.

The initial days have not seen much of action on roads for rainy season being one reason, the parking blues being another,  keeping in mind the fiddling habits of my fellow denizens. You really don't want to mess up the shining chrome, then again, it is for riding and mess up comes as a part of the package. I am learning and improvising. It goes without saying what powerful machine it is, and what it would do to completely redefine the biking experience for us Indians. We will have to change our outlook towards our bikes from means of transport to proud triumphs, with riding as quintessential ingredient. Time it shall take, but we shall be witness to it. The society is in a transition phase, for that matter it has always been in one, and it is fun to be a part of it consciously.

I am enjoying it and I'll ensure that my Made In The US of A HOG does too, devouring the scenics  of Indian mainland. That is a promise.

Congratulations! I know it was your long pending dream which you have fulfilled. Wish you long happy rides.

I am sure its everyone's envy... So enjoy the stares and looks. But you must take a notice about who is doing it and who is drooling over it. Now, the pillion seat is honking...
