He said lets go Mashobra...I said lets go Karnal....in the end I ceded to the more experienced, and we climbed the hills. Went up till Barog, had chai at Tourist Dhaba as Himachal Tourism was still asleep. It was not even 0830 hours and we were ready to descend...that early an end to the ride.....na-ah!
So it was a confluence ride. Confluence of the best of roads the region has to offer and us ripping them apart with thunder. We decided to return from Barog and hit Zirakpur flyover, onto Ambala, onto Rajpura McD's and return from Sirhind. It was a route making most of the recently opened/opening highways, adding much to the ride delight.
Approaching Ambala the weather turned hot and we decided to halt for a beer at a decent off beat place. So it was to be some Jashan hotel (past Rajpura) became our respite from hot weather for next two hours. We were offered Haywards (although promised Godfather), some malai chicken, some flies, and cocktail of dirt and hay dust - as we chose to sit out in shade keeping clear line of sight for bikes. Questionnaires came and went and beers - not Redbull - made time fly.
Taking the saddle, she now seemed as flying even it 100kph! The recent infusion in blood was becoming visible. Now, sitting back home dragged down by gravity, it can be safely said that the Rajpura Sirhind stretch of road - as of now - is 4 Beers down 140kph SAFE!
O cmon' - WE WERE LUCKY!
