Pushkar

A long weekend, work all sorted, nothing else to do - it was time to burn some rubber.

With my riding buddy out of town, and Green Dot Expeditions parked at Pushkar; the idea of an overnight trip to Pushkar sooth my nerves. That was this Saturday, 5am. Ten hours of ride and thirteen hours later, I was sipping my evening coffee courtesy Green Dot.

The evening saw us having company of two firangs - Mike and Robbie. It so happens that Robbie is an avid rider and comes from the town of Burt Munro in New Zealand. Both of us having seen it, we concurred how true a dialogue is in Burt's movie - The World's Fastest Indian. It goes, "you live more in five minutes on a bike like this going flat out than some people live in a life time". Exciting discussions and rest of evening just went flying by.

Next morning, I made my way back while Green Dot went further to Jaisalmer. A long but short trip, comprising pure riding. One needs to experience, to believe the fun there is in doing this. To the extent that, there comes a point where you need to halt for bladder relief - but you don't - as there is too much joy in the rhythm, the speed and the road.

Post such trip, you come back and appreciate the luxury of your car, the luxury of your bed, the luxury of bath; simple things which we just assume in our daily routine. Thankful for this short but worthy reminder of how lucky we are.

Thank You.
